Sample content
Forms are where users actually get something done. If a form is not accessible, that task does not happen.
Always show the label
Placeholder text disappears once you start typing. Every field needs a visible label.
Errors next to the field, with a fix
An error message should say what went wrong and how to fix it, right next to the field it belongs to.
A few more points
- Tab order should match visual order
- The right field type (email, phone) opens the right keyboard on mobile
- After a failed submit, move focus to a summary of the errors
